Napa and Sonoma Wine Country Step-on Guide
Have your own vehicle and driver but want a guide to show you wine country? Blue Heron can help.
A nice itinerary is to visit one winery in the morning for a tour and tasting, let the group have lunch on their own on Sonoma Plaza, and then visit a second winery in the afternoon for just a tasting. If you prefer to organize a group lunch at one of Napa or Sonoma's many restaurants, we can give you recommendations. We can also help you pick wineries to meet your group's tastes and budget.
Figure on 90 to 120 minutes to drive from San Francisco to Napa or Sonoma, depending on which winery you select for your morning visit. A tour and tasting lasts around 90 minutes. The drive to lunch can take 30 to 60 minutes depending on the winery and lunch spot. In the afternoon, allow 30 minutes to get to your afternoon winery and 60 minutes for a tasting. The drive back to San Francisco likely will take between 90 minutes and 2 hours depending on the location of the winery and traffic.
Our fee for a tour starting and ending in San Francisco is $250 for the first 4 hours and $50 for each additional hour. You'll likely need at least nine hours for this tour, which means our fee is going to be at least $500; more if the group has a long lunch or visits wineries at the northern end of Napa or Sonoma.
Winetasting fees vary greatly. We're happy to help you select wineries to meet your budget.
